It's a bit quiet here! I have the band followed on Twitter to still keep in the know of what they're up to, and this interesting picture popped up a couple of minutes ago! Looks like for their 20th anniversary, the band will be releasing an album, announcing their tour, and debuting a new 4th member! From what sources say, his name is Nakamura Ryo and will be Guitar/Synthesizer. Curious to see what the future holds!

Yeah, I saw this too. It is some rather big news. Was actually on my way to post about it as well. XD

I'm late for the party! Indeed, big move. Would be interesting to know if Ryo Nakamura played at RIJF with the band...

Gotta say though, not as cute as Kayo...

Really interested to see how the addition of the new guy enhances or changes their sound. So many possibilities

This album is aptly titled! It's so good. They're on what has to be the best three-album stretch of the their career right now with Action-What's This-That's Fantastic, which is so awesome to see.

Re: New member + album release 2017.11.29

The last three albums are really good. I'm getting tired of comments like "I stopped listening to POLYSICS after the keyboarder left" or "They're still active?".

First off, Merry Christmas everyone smile

I truly underestimated this album. I heard the previews on it from itunes and was just not impressed, thinking "what is this? I think I'm gonna skip it." Just today it popped in my mind and I decided to first see the comments on it from here. Seeing you guys praising it made me think I must have missed something.....and yeah I did and I feel so bad. XD

Just finished listening to "Shut up Baby" and its blown me away. I think what stood out the most about it is how slowed down it is and the rhythm is so catchy. I've played it over and over again and I truly enjoy it.

I still got the other ones to listen to but so far, yes I am liking this. smile

Glad you gave it a chance! If you haven't listened to Action and What's This yet you need to give them a chance as well (unfortunately though they were just pulled off of the American iTunes so you may have to import them). They're so good. Action is Polysics finally getting their crap together again, and then What's This is one of the most original and brilliant punk albums I've ever heard. It's overwhelming at first, but on repeated listens you realize how catchy and brilliantly structured the songs are. One of the things that surprised me about That's Fantastic is how it's easily the most accessible they've been since Now is the Time. The first three songs are crazy and feel like a continuation of What's This, but after that they really dialed back the insanity. Every song is just so strong. Rumba Rumba is easily their best pop song since Electric Surfin' Go Go. And yeah, Shut Up Baby is amazing. Polysics is firmly in a second prime right now smile
