Re: Washington DC, Feb. 16, 2010!!!

Those of you making the trip will be fine, just take it easy and all will be well. My plan is to drive up early and just hang out up with one of my Northern Virginia friends. I'll give myself plenty of room to take my time getting there and figure out where to park. I'll post weather conditions and things like that via twitter.  If I hear anything that I think will be important to you, I'll post it. https://twitter.com/supreme_nothing

Website still offers tickets for sale, so I think people have got a decent chance of getting them at the door. Pre-order if you can though to be safe! http://www.ticketalternative.com/Events/9376.aspx

It sounds like some of you are going to be easy to spot, smile so I'll be sure to say hello. I don't really have any other POLYSICS fans around me, so it will be cool to be in this hotbed of fandom!

Also, it appears there's only one other band. They're a visual-kei band from..........umm......... Baltimore. (I know when I think of vis-kei, I think of Baltimore)

I don't want to say anything mean, but I will say that even if they're terrible, it will at least be the amusing kind of terrible. : Here's their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/geistband

What else can I say except that I'm incredibly excited about the show! It's pretty much the only thing I can think about right now.

Re: Washington DC, Feb. 16, 2010!!!

Cool, I'll appreciate those updates!!

Sweet, only one band standing in our way of Polysics! At Charlotte, there were like.... three other bands. It got very boring in the middle, haha.

Four days, four daaaays~

Re: Washington DC, Feb. 16, 2010!!!

Well, it's final. I won't be going, so guys, have fun tonight!!! I wish I could have gone and at least gotten something from this show, but I know I'll go to more of their concerts in the future, when they come around again. Instead, I'll be putting some bids on some CDs on ebay (Rocket, Pretty Good, Shout Aloud/Beat Flash, Young OH OH, and Absolute Polysics) which should come out to about $60 total. I hope I get them all!! I am dead set on getting something Polysics, so I will splurge on these CDs! big_smile

It was a shame you weren't there Carrie, I was actually trying to spot you.

For now I'm just going to post one photo. I'm heading back to the UK tomorrow so I might do some sort of write-up/blog/thing about my trip.

Yeah, I wish I was able to go! But instead, I got my dad on ebay and today, we won Rocket, Pretty Good, Shout Aloud!/Beat Flash, (limited edition) Young OH! OH!, and (limited edition) Absolute POLYSICS. For $68.60. It makes me feel better about missing their concert, haha.

Sweet picture!!! I can't wait to see everyone's writeups and pictures!!! :DDDDDD

I'll share my goods and stories tomorrow after I get home from work. It's all a blur right now and I need to wrap my brain around it! I'll probably write a blog entry as well.

In a quick summary, the show was a ton of fun and just what you'd expect from POLYSICS. The crowd wasn't terribly big, but it was enthusiastic and made of true fans, some of whom traveled quite far. Quite quite far. I had two friends who came along who were not familiar with the band, and they were completely won over, buying CDS and getting as excited as the the more seasoned fans.

The set list was very close to the ones mentioned from previous shows, with their cover of "My Sharona" added in, presumably due to The Knack's Doug Fieger passing away just a few days ago. They did a meet-and-greet at the end, and I enjoyed seeing the joy in the fans who came from Japan as much as I appreciated meeting the members. I'll elaborate later...

And Mr. marktobias, let me say it was a pleasure talking with you, sir! You're a heck of a good guy and it was an honor to make your acquaintance.

Carrie (west_haven), I wish you had been able to come, but as I mentioned over on twitter, I think it's great that you've handled it with a positive outlook. Enjoy your new CDs!

Ooooh, that's so touching about how they added My Sharona in there. I remember when I saw that song last tour, it REALLY won me over.

I can't wait for these reports!!!!! *jumps up and down*  Everyone go home, sleep lots and then report back to me! big_smile

Re: Washington DC, Feb. 16, 2010!!!

west_haven: I'll write a review of sorts this weekend, I promise. I have some photos, too!

Re: Washington DC, Feb. 16, 2010!!!

I'm home..... . so this is what jet-lag feels like?! Wow! I would sleep but our heating has broken while I was gone so the house is colder than outside (I'm not sure if that's possible). One quick thing, Haruchi (one of the Japanese fans at the DC show) told me that her and some of the Japanese fans went home on the same plane as the band! So I think they got their moneys worth. big_smile

Ouch, I hope you get that fixed!!

That's really neat though!! I'd find it hard to contain myself if I was in that situation, lol.
