Another report and pics from the Roxy show 29/1

http://jrockrevolution.com/component/co … -die-.html

I'm really enjoying doing a search for "polysics" every so often on Twitter, there's lots of twittererers out there shouting toisu and giving little updates as far as the gigs go.

Oh sweet, thanks for the links! I think I clicked this one earlier but it wasn't loading so I gave up, haha. Man, those balloons..... XDDD

I've been doing that too, searching for "polysics" and seeing what comes up. A girl took Polaroid pictures and got 'em signed and they look really neat! Haha, I even somehow got a Japanese Polyfan to follow me, so I striked up a convo XDD I never though I'd be a Tweeter, rofl.

Re: Polysics US tour 2010

Oooh, loved that bit where Fumi talked about OGRE YOU ASSHOLE. Also, when Kayo talked at the end.... ; ^; <33

According to the blog, they did 17 interviews the other day (wow!) so I expect a bunch of 'em will be popping up. Here is a small one I found the other day, and here's another one.

"We have never thought of breaking up just because of Kayo is leaving. We will start new and reinvent POLYSICS."

Go go go go go go go go POLYSICS!!!! It makes me so happy that they're having such a positive outlook on the future of the band big_smile

What merch are Polysics selling? I'm going to the show in San Antonio tonight and I want to be prepared.

Re: Polysics US tour 2010

These popped up on ebay recently, so I asume they are selling these
They are clearly depicted in their pilot and flight attendant outfits they wore last summer http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/imag … 2c60b0.jpg

Re: Polysics US tour 2010

Well I'm off to Americaland tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll be able to post here while I'm away although if there's any interesting news I'll try and pop in to discuss. If you're at the Akron or DC shows then come say hello, I'll possibly be in full Polysics costume but if not I'll try to have some sort of distinguishing feature such as an "I am marktobias!" sticker on my head. Tally ho!

This was just some ordinary report but something at the bottom made me laugh. big_smile

Meanwhile, fans have been gathering in cities like Los Angeles, where they played The Roxy last week, to say goodbye to Kayo. Signs with Kayo's name scrawled across them have been scattered across the crowds. Someone even gave her red sneakers, a reference to the song "Bye-bye, Red Sneaker."

Would anyone like to do that? Haha

I wanna make a sign that says "For now it's bye-bye!" 'cause I really like Bye-Bye-Bye. It's such a cute song!! (the lyrics get kinda funky at the end though, lol)

That is really cool though about the sneakers!! o 3o

A report from their show last night!!

"It's fucking cold outside!" screamed Polysics singer/guitarist Hiroyuki Hayashi. The 150-plus-strong crowd at the Firebird cheered, as he squealed an even more vehement response: "But we're going to burn the fucking house down!!!"

yeeeeeessssss
also, Hiro you are SO COOL

Edit: Also, an over-the-phone interview right here.

Squid sushi, huh, Fumi? Sounds, uh... wow XDD

Re: Polysics US tour 2010

How did their cover of Sloppy sound?  That must have been really cool.

I'm off to the NYC gig in a couple hours.  I hate traveling in the cold to go to a hot cramped club, but it'll be worth it.

Re: Polysics US tour 2010

Were there any autograph opportunities after the Akron show?  D:  My mom and sister insisted on leaving like half an hour after they played.

Re: Polysics US tour 2010

Long train ride back to the Jersey Shore with a loud drunk girl entertaining us half the way.  The show was great as well.  Much more crowded than the last time I saw them, but I attribute that to being a 21+ show on Halloween.

Chatted with Hayashi a bit before the performance.  Tried to buy his hoodie (it was so much cooler than the t-shirt for sale!) but settled for a copy of Absolute instead.

Speaking of Absolute, it's true.  The songs are so much better live.  Bero Bero did not disappoint, and the antics during Fire Bison were great.  催眠術でGO is intense!  Proof again that the production on AbsPoly didn't do the songs justice.  I heard every new song I wanted except Speed Up.  I love hearing new stuff live, although, still a bit bummed they only ever play what has been localized.

Pardon my ignorance, but the instrument Hayashi uses towards the end of ELTCCT is awesome.  It works like a theramin sort of, but it's a touch pad, you hover your hands over to manipulate sound.  ELTCCT is my least fav song on the new album, and watching him play it made the song awesome.  He continued to randomly hit it in other songs later in the set, even used his guitar head.  Fun!  I'd like to know the name of that thing.

I can't decide if this beats the Halloween show or not for me.  Halloween had the Devo performance, and my favorite WATM songs, but tonight's show felt much more like a high-energy back and forth with the crowd insanity classic Poly show.  In 2008, I didn't hear toisu once!!  Tonight he had us going back and forth between every song.  It was a blast.

anyway, setlist

P!
Young Oh Oh
Peach Pie
New Wave Jacket
Digital Coffee (woooo!)
Bero Bero (<3)
ELTCCT
I My Me Mine
Beat Flash (<3)
Fire Bison (madness)
Rocket
催眠術でGO
Kaja Kaja Goo
Coelakanth
Baby BIAS
Shout Aloud

Black Out Fall Out (!!!)
Buggie Technica

Oh, that's embarrassing.  I have the Korg DS-10 that uses that, and I play with it all the time!  Thanks.
